Academic Computing & Network Services (ACNS) develops, maintains, and delivers information technology (IT) for Michigan State University. The primary role of ACNS is to provide access to centrally-supported IT resources including network connectivity, classroom technology, computer sales and support, training, and outreach.

ACNS focuses on providing computing services and resources to students, faculty and staff in order to facilitate the university’s mission.

In doing so, ACNS

ACNS is located in the Computer Center, just north of Red Cedar River and east of Hannah Administration Building and is staffed by approximately 110 employees with assistance from 100 part-time student employees.

ACNS reports to the Vice Provost for Libraries, Computing and Technology, David Gift.
