Network Storage and Printing provides storage space and printing that are available through the campus network. This storage space includes both AFS and the new storage area network (SAN) system. AFS space enables MSU students, faculty members and staff members to store documents (e.g., papers and research reports) on the network and to post personal Web pages to the Internet. The SAN provides large quantities of storage space to departments on campus for remotely storing critical data.
Network Storage and Printing provides printing through the NetPrint Web application, which enables each MSU student, staff member and faculty member to "print almost anything from almost anywhere," or, more specifically, to print documents to any of the printers in the public campus computer labs from any computer on the campus network.
